Although many events are cancelled, understandably, during this time, there is still lots to see and do in Upstate South Carolina!
One favorite pastime is seeking out a hiking trail! Whether you are an avid hiker and prefer to tackle the tougher trails or if you are looking to simply stroll along, there is a trail for you! Another great outing is a day on the lake. Or should we say lakes? Yes, we are blessed with Lake Jocassee, Lake Keowee, and Lake Hartwell.
Lake Jocassee, which borders the North Carolina state line, does have just the one public access point, Devils’ Fork State Park. Please contact the park directly for information about park hours and what amenities are open/available.
Lake Keowee has some wonderful places for not just boating but fishing as well! And by boating, this also includes those who enjoy kayaking or canoeing. One lovely spot for all of the above, including simply taking in the wonderful view, is the Keowee-Toxaway State Park off Highway 11. Again, please contact the park for hours and additional details.
Lake Hartwell is part of our Georgia divider. This lake, too, has a state park with options for boating and, note-worthily known for, fishing. Between bass, catfish, bream and more, this is a great lake to test the waters!
