The Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail

As you drive around the Upstate of South Carolina, you may notice some building showcase beautiful quilt squares. The Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail (UHQL) gives locals and visitors alike a fun and charming guide to many historic locations and points of interest. If looking about seeing a full list of these lovely patterns and the sites, click here. We are unable to give details into all of these delightful quilts but we will highlight a few in and around the Lake Keowee and Jocassee area.
For Lake Jocassee, there is only one public access point and that is Devil’s Fork State Park. This stunning location houses the “Rolling Landscape” quilt to start us off on our trail. A beautiful representation of the rolling mountains and the blue waters of the area. This area and quilt is a must see!
One of the popular spots around Keowee is the Happy Berry Farm, a frequent visit for many of the Cliffs and Reserve residents. Here on the farm, you can see the “Happy Quilt”! Making your way towards Seneca, you can visit Duke’s World of Energy and see the “Log Cabin” quilt and across the lake at High Falls County Park you can see the “Cather’s Maze” block on the Alexander Cannon Hill House.
Are you enjoying the beautiful clean and clear waters of Lake Keowee? Stop by the Friends of Lake Keowee (FOLKS) office and see the “Starlight’s” quilt as well! You can end your short tour (there are so many more quilt blocks and location to see!) at the South Cove County Park in Seneca and enjoy “Scenes of the Lake” quilt.
