“The President’s Own” Marine Band in Concert!

Upstate South Carolina is to have a special treat this week with the United States Marine Band! Part of their national tour, “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band will be at Mauldin High School (701 E. Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662) on Thursday, October 27th. The concert begins at 7:30pm and will be around 2 hours in duration. This performance is just one of 29 concerts in 11 states that the band will give during this tour.
Fun fact about the Marine Band? It is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization! No other band can say they have performed for every U.S. President since John Adams but this one can. Founded in 1798 and then known as “The President’s Own” during the days of Thomas Jefferson, this band’s primary purpose is to provide music for the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the President of The United States.
