Chattooga Trail Bed and Barn is located in the Sumter National Forest of Upstate South Carolina, and they allow visitors to bring their own horses, as well as dogs. The property has a variety of accommodations to fit every guest’s specific needs – rooms within the larger Inn, RV sites with electric and water hookups that allow up to 42 ft length for horse trailers, and even a separate cottage in a wagon! Paddocks are available for rent for each horse.
The location of this Bed & Barn can’t be beat and neither can the scenery from their land. Rolling hills and beautiful pastures make this a truly spectacular place to unwind. The property has over 30 miles of trails for riders to explore with several winding through the Sumter National Forest and along the Chattooga River. The trails weave through mountainous terrain and various grades, making for an adventurous ride. You don’t need a horse to come stay though – many visitors come just for the close proximity to the park and river. Nearby, the Chattooga and Chauga Rivers offer a plethora of activities from hiking and fishing to kayaking and whitewater rafting. You can spend an amazing day outside experiencing all the gorgeous Upstate SC has to offer and then unwind by campfire at night.
