Our area is bursting with Rhododendron plants… and festivals! Yes, both Tennessee and North Carolina are holding Rhododendron Festivals in the Road Mountain area this weekend.
First host is the small town of Bakersville in North Carolina. Thousands of visitors are welcomed to the Creekside park on Friday, June 21st and Saturday, June 22nd. Dozens of artists bring their talented wares for the craft fair. There will also be live music during the day and end the evening with street dancing on Main Street (admission required). On Saturday, they will also hold a car show at the Bowman Middle School football field and along the creek is the “Ducky Derby”!
The Tennessee Rhododenron Festival is Saturday, June 22dn and Sunday, June 23rd. Held at the Roan Mountain State Park, you will find over 100 arts and crafts vendors plus live music and various demonstrations.
