Celebrating the New Year Around the World

For many of us, New Year’s Eve means staying up to midnight to see the old year out and the new year in. The infamous New York City’s Times Square swarms with people to see the ball drop, similar to London’s Trafalgar Square full of people celebrating.
For Australia, the New Year marks the country’s largest fireworks show! The sky is lit up above the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Opera House. For Scotland, Edinburgh is known for the multi-day festival that includes a concert, torchlight processions, street party and more. For more than 2 million people, Rio de Janeiro will be the place to ring in the New Year! Rio’s most famous beach, the Copacabana, draws a crowd to see the fireworks display and to party in 2018.
Of course, many cultures and countries have in the past and currently celebrate the New Year at different times but regardless of when, we hope the mark of a new year brings you joy and happiness!
