Buffalo Farm Tours near Asheville, NC

Asheville – just the name brings to mind images of small art shops, cozy cafes, the Biltmore Estate, and especially delicious cuisine! One idea that may not be the first to come to mind is buffalo! Or how about camels? Maybe some watusi? Just a short drive from West Asheville is Dr. King’s Farm where you can go on a guided tour to see the above mentioned animals and much more! A fun surprise in the North Carolina mountains for sure.
Tours are offered Wednesdays through Fridays during Spring, Summer and Fall. The 90 minute tour not only lets you see the wide variety of animals from the wagon (yes, you read correctly – you are in a tractor-pulled wagon!) but also includes a stop at the camel barn for an up close look.
Some of the buffalo you will see include the rare Black Bison plus the rare White Bison! There are also Himalayan Yak, North American Elk and African Watusi.
